This weekend! Things to do!

I always feel like there is so much going on this time of year that it seems hard to get to everything...but I can atleast try, can't I?

Here are some fabulous things coming up this weekend that are definitely worth checking out...

THURSDAY (not quite the weekend yet, but why not start early?):

West Elm + Etsy are teaming up and this Thursday at the West Elm in Philly (1330 Chestnut St) is featuring mini markets by Peg and Awl (yay!), Kaye Rachelle Designs, Giant DwarfSomething's Hiding In Here, and Girls Can Tell

FRIDAY:

Fabulous photographer, Laura Graham, has a show at Gravy Studio in Fishtown (2212 Sepviva Street).

Jess of the amazing Bloodmilk  is having a show of her jewelry and images from her new lookbook at Gallery 309 in Old City (309 Cherry Street).

And Asian Arts Initiative has an opening for Witness:Artists Reflect on 30 Years of the AIDS Pandemic. We hadn't seen the show entirely installed but there was a lot of great work! (And be sure to check out Justin's fancy walls while you're there!) (1219 Vine Street)

SATURDAY:
The Resource Exchange is having a great holiday fundraiser/event!  (2829 Cedar Street)

SUNDAY:

Shane and Julia Stratton, both fabulous sculptors, are having a holiday show and sale of their sculpture in Elkins Park (630 Spring Avenue), along with the photography of Ron Tarver and Rob Graham.

Whew! All of these events are sure to be wonderful and amazing so do check them out. Hope to see you there!

Walls...

We are exhausted...Justin more so than me, because he's been working on these for days. I jumped in to help today with the sanding and painting of the two 8'9"high x 8'5"wide x 2' deep rolling gallery walls that Justin made for the Asian Arts Initiative. Here are some photos of the process...

Holiday Wishlist: What Olivia wants...

Next up in the wishlist series is Olivia...our daughter. She's 2 but so far it's pretty obvious to us that she will end up a sculptor (unless she rebels after we make her work in the Sculpture Gym...). She attended her first opening was when she was 2 weeks old and she's already helped us install more shows than any kid I know. Soon she will be the tiniest studio intern...

Anyway...here is what she is asking Sculpture Santa for this year...

1. More Eco-dough

2. Haba building blocks

3. Wooden modeling tools of her own

4. More Glob Natural Blends Paint

5. A second smock (one for home and one for the studio)

6. Colored Pencils

7. A new Sketchbook

8. Homemade Art Supplies

9. A membership to the aquarium (For inspiration...!)

10. An art collection of her own (She already has a baby bunny sculpture, which she LOVES...)

Don't forget to leave your wishlist of 10 sculpture/craft/making stuff related items in the comments for a chance to win a free 1 month membership to the Philadelphia Sculpture Gym! We'll announce a winner on Monday, November 28th!
