Aluminum Casting Workshop

We are offering a hands on aluminum casting workshop where participants will learn how to make greensand molds and cast small pieces in aluminum. No previous experience needed.

Date: Saturday, December 8th, 10am-5pm

Cost: $50 per person (Includes materials)

CALL FOR CRAFT/ART VENDORS
Coldhearted II: An Art/Craft Event
December 7th and 8th, 2012
Submission Deadline: November 20, 2012

We're looking for a wide variety of artists, collectives, craftspeople and small businesses that are creating high quality, affordable items, including (but certainly not limited to): art of all kinds, handmade goods like bags, jewelry, housewares, etc, food items (we love food), plant items such as terrariums or flower arrangements, fabulously curated vintage selections, clothes, local businesses promoting appropriate services (massages, art classes, etc..) and more...  Unconventional is good. We like unconventional.

Venue
The Philadelphia Sculpture Gym, located in the heart of Fishtown, at 1834 E. Frankford Avenue. Each selected vendor will receive an approx. 8ft long space.  You must supply your own table and chair(s).

Cost
Selected artists will pay $25 for the 8ft space.  Payment will be due by December 1, 2012.  Instructions for payment will be sent along with selection notification.

Installation
Selected artists/crafters can set up Thurs., Dec. 6, 5-9pm or Fri., Dec. 7, 12-5pm.

Moore College Open Studio Night - This Thursday!

 

This Thursday is the Open Studio Night for Moore College and aside from the fact that there will be cake there (yay!), I'm especially excited to see work by PSG summer intern Kelly Colligan, Small Works show artist Jesse Lentz, and the CarboCats by Stephanie Potter (see in progress photo below!) Be sure to go visit all of these fabulous ladies!

A huge thanks to everyone who came to the Small Works opening on Friday night! What an amazing turnout we had! It was also so great to hear how much everyone enjoyed the show...another huge thanks to our artists!

 We also managed to get down to Grounds for Sculpture to see the Iron pour that Abominog Intl did on Saturday.

 

The fortune I got right after the iron pour...nice...
