Sculptural Metalworking Workshop
Saturday, May 25th 10:00-5:00pm 



This one-day intensive workshop is an introduction to metalworking and welding, and is
focused on creative exploration through steel. Students will learn MIG
welding, grinding & polishing, and other techniques while collaboratively creating a
sculptural work that will adorn PSG upon its completion. No prerequisites.

This one-day workshop will teach you how to make and wrap your own cover and learn how to sew an entire sketchbook using the “Coptic stitch”. This specific stitch is especially suited for sketchbooks because it allows the book to lay completely flat when open.

This one-day workshop is a basic course of oxygen-acetylene cutting & welding.  It will focus on all the procedures and safetly associated with using an oxy-aceteylene set up.   This workshop will give the opportunity to fabricate a 3D letter/symbol out of steel by cutting the steel, welding it, and grinding/polishing within 6 hours.  Your instructor will be available to answer questions & help with any planning prior to class.

You will learn the basics of flat needle felting with loose wool and added yarn embellishments.  
Part 1: "Your House" 
Participants can bring a photo of their house, or a house they'd like to re-create (roughly 4"). You will learn the basics of flat needle felting with loose wool and added yarn embellishments.
Part 3: "Your Chair/Teapot"

Participants would create a miniature chair or teapot (roughly 2") while utilizing the basics of dimensional needle felting. Adding a top coat of color will also be discussed.

This three week long class is an introduction to rubber blanket molds. Students will learn how to create a rubber blanket mold and plaster mother mold on a small sculpture. No prerequisites.
